Lessons
Windswept Farm welcomes riders from all disciplines from the pleasure rider all the way up to the rider who wants to compete. Trainers are available for lessons on one of our stellar lesson horses - with an emphasis on safety and good horsemanship. Riders will learn all aspects of care and riding including grooming, tacking, caring for your horse after and care of equipment. Windswept Farms has multiple schooling horses. Occasionally, there are also horses to lease if riders are not quite ready to own their own horses but are ready to have more one on one time with their favorite mount. Periodically, throughout the year, camps are offered. We offer summer camp and even holiday camps! Check our Facebook page for upcoming dates!
We love having guest trainers! Let's face it, we have one of the best arenas in Hillsborough county and we love sharing it with our local equestrians. We welcome outside trainers with prior approval. Lessons can be scheduled directly with them or we can help set something up!
Meet Some Of The Horses
We truly have the best string of lesson horses. Each horse is chosen specifically to compliment not only the rider's ability but also personality!
TANGO
Tango was a 28 yr old Oldenburg/Qh cross and was everyone's favorite.
Unfortunately, we lost Tango, the matriarch of WSF, in February 2023. We hope all the students she impacted will cherish the memories of her.
Most of our riders did at least their first lesson on Tango. She has worn many hats in her career from hunter, jumper, eventer, fox hunter, been through police mounted patrol training and has even worked cattle! Tango had most recently worked for Animal Casting Atlanta and starred alongside Melissa McCarthy and Kathy Bates in The Boss.
JOLIE
Jolie is a Percheron/Paint cross. She is not only beautiful but she is also very sweet. Before coming to WSF, Jolie was a career broodmare. She started her riding career late but you would never know it. Jolie is great for advanced beginners thru more experienced riders. She loves grooming, baths and LOVES treats even more! Not only can Jolie be seen here at the farm, she can be seen playing a rhino on Marvel's Black Panther with our friends at Animal Casting Atlanta., and worked on Disney's Vacation Friends.
LIRA
Lira is a pinto warmblood mare. She is one of the most affectionate horses in the barn and has the best paint job! Lira is mostly used for our more advanced riders. With her willingness, laid back attitude and great looks she is a favorite of the more advanced riders and she also has worked for Animal Casting Atlanta on Netflix's show Insatiable, worked on Chaos Walking, Disney's Vacation Friends, as well as doing several photoshoots for local photographers and even an ad campaign for Zoetis.
